“You are important, what you think and what you feel are important”.

If you have never had therapy before, the prospect of it and the first session can maybe feel quite daunting.

During the first session, I introduce myself and go over some practical information. This includes confidentiality and protection of your personal information. We would also chat about what your hopes and goals are for therapy and what you are looking for.

It is also a opportunity for you to ask anything about myself or counselling, and to see if you feel comfortable with therapy and want to continue.

For an explanation of the approaches to counselling, please follow the link to the BACP website at the bottom of the page. The BACP website also holds a lot of other information that may be of use if you are looking to start therapy.
